Quilt Squad - English Paper Piecing
This week the Quilt Squad got together for another fun evening of patchworking, mince pie eating, and sharing techniques in order to learn a technique known as English Paper Piecing. This is were tessellating shapes are cut from paper and wrapped in fabric before being carefully stitched together to make a design.
The group used a quilt block design known as the ‘friendship star’, pictured is a great example of a nearly finished pattern by Susan.
The friendship star quilt block has a long history of community use, and was ideal to use on an evening where we were all getting together and learning from one another.
