Quilt Squad - Foundation Paper Piecing

Last night some of the quilt squad got together to learn a technique known as Foundation Paper Piecing!

The sewing of fabric onto paper to create complicated and otherwise (or sometimes still) fiddly designs in patchwork. The visitors to the studio were given a design that they stitched their fabrics to to create a heart motif, ate some soup and biscuits, and learned a little more about famous Gees Bend quilts from resident costume expert Pam who had brought her book along to show us!
Another really enjoyable evening spending time together and learning a bit more about patch-working processes ready for the start of the Cheer Quilt Project next year.
